The Aso Shrine, located in Oita Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of agriculture and fertility. Its origins date back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE), making it one of the oldest shrines in Japan. The shrine's architecture reflects its rural setting with traditional Japanese roofs and wooden pillars. Aso Shrine was originally located at this site, however, the main hall we see today was built during the Edo Period. The shrine is also known for its association with the legendary fox spirit, Inari Okami, a key figure in Shinto mythology. Visitors can observe the shrine's beautiful garden and take part in various festivals throughout the year.
