Located in the city of Kanazawa, Eight-Horned Shrine (Hachimangū) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of samurai. This shrine is famous for its striking architecture and eight magnificent horns, which symbolize strength, courage, and protection. Cultural notes
This shrine is closely associated with the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a legendary samurai and brother of the famous Minamoto no Yoritomo. According to myth, Yoshitsune defeated his rival Ajiro's forces at the Battle of Dan-no-ura, where he wore Hachiman's armor for protection.
