Spring Day Shrine, located in Ishikawa Prefecture, is a Shinto temple dedicated to the kami of spring and new beginnings. The shrine's architecture reflects its historical significance during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), with its wooden structures and tiled roofs.

Visitor tip
To avoid waiting in line, visit the shrine during the off-season (December to February) when it is less crowded.
Cultural notes
As a symbol of spring renewal, the shrine celebrates the annual Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival (Hanami) in early April. Additionally, the shrine's architecture features a unique 'sōgen-bashi' gate, which is adorned with carvings of dragons and other mythical creatures.
Historical note
The shrine was founded in 819 CE by Emperor Montoku, one of the Imperial Family members who ruled the country at that time.
