The Yamabushi Shrine is famous for its association with the 'tsukumo disease,' which was believed to be caused by evil spirits. To ward off these spirits, visitors often carry tsukumogami, small wooden charms in the shape of birds or other animals, and hang them on the shrine's gates.

Historical note

The shrine was established during the Edo period (1603-1868), specifically in the year 1651.
