Ap no Tenjinsha is a Shinto shrine located in Omi-cho, Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. The shrine was originally built to honor the god of learning and culture, Sugawara no Michizane. Over time, the shrine has expanded to also enshrine the god of industry and commerce, Okuninushi. Visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese architecture, beautiful gardens, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Cultural notes
Ap no Tenjinsha is closely tied to the mythology of Sugawara no Michizane and Okuninushi. The shrine's name also reflects its association with the Ap god, who is said to reside in the mountains. In addition to traditional worship, the shrine hosts various festivals throughout the year, including a spring festival honoring the arrival of the new season.
