Sanko Inari Shrine, located in Chiba Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of rice and fertility, Inari Okami. The shrine's name, Sanko, roughly translates to 'three lights,' possibly referring to the three main shrines within the complex: the main shrine, the Kofuku shrine, and the Ryuzoji shrine. The shrine's architecture is a mix of traditional and modern elements, with a unique torii gate. Visitors can purchase small tokens called 'ema' to hang on the shrine's pillars in hopes of receiving blessings. As a major rice-producing region, Chiba Prefecture has strong ties to Inari Okami, who is believed to watch over farmers and ensure bountiful harvests.
