Nakamura Suwasha Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the Japanese prefecture of Nagano, dedicated to the kami Suwashi. The shrine is situated in the Nakamagasa Village and is famous for its scenic beauty with Mt. Kiso as its backdrop. Nakamura Suwasha Shrine was originally built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), but it has undergone several renovations throughout its history.

Cultural notes
Suwashi is the Shinto god of fishing and navigation. At Nakamura Suwasha Shrine, visitors can participate in a traditional boat racing festival called 'Kagamiyari,' which takes place on April 27th every year. During this festival, participants build model boats made of wood and sail them across the shrine's pond.
