Cultural notes

As a revered site for Hachiman worship, Nakamura Hachimansha Shrine is also notable for its association with the legend of Minamoto no Yoritomo's victory over the Taira clan at Dan-no-ura in 1185. The shrine's garden features a 'yoshino' tree believed to have been planted during this era.
