Located in the town of Matsudai, Chiba Prefecture, Konoha Inari Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Inari Okami, the kami of rice and fertility. The shrine is situated at the foot of Mount Tsukudani and is known for its vibrant autumn foliage and traditional Japanese architecture. Inari Okami is also known as 'the god of many hands,' referring to his multiple messengers who assist him in his duties. The shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which are said to be offerings to Inari Okami. The shrine's grounds also feature several festivals throughout the year, including the Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival in spring and the Autumn Leaves Festival.
Historical note
The shrine was founded in 1740 by Nakatomi Seiichi, a former daimyo (feudal lord) of the Matsudai domain.
