Katsuragi Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Izumigawa, Osaka Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to the kami (Shinto deities) of the Katsuragi River and its surrounding mountains. The shrine's architecture is a mix of traditional Japanese styles, with a main hall constructed during the Heian period. According to local legend, the shrine was founded in 718 CE by Prince Nagaya, who was said to have been guided by the spirit of Mount Shikatsu.

Cultural notes
Katsuragi Shrine is associated with the Shinto god of agriculture and fertility, Hachiman, as well as the mountain spirit (yama no kami) of Mount Shikatsu. The shrine is also famous for its traditional folk dances, including the 'Omi Koi no Furui Oto,' which reenacts the legend of Prince Nagaya's founding.
