Cultural notes
Kasuga Shrine is closely associated with the mythology of the 'Tsurugi-no-Mikoto', a deity said to have possessed a magical sword. The shrine also hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the Kasuga Matsuri, which honors the deity and features traditional dances and performances.
