Located in the city of Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, Kakuru Shrine is a Shinto temple dedicated to the kami Hikokuro. The shrine's architecture reflects its historical significance as a major stop on the Tokaido road, a key route between Edo and Kyoto during the Edo period. Visitors can still see remnants of the original 17th-century gate that once marked the entrance to the shrine.

Visitor tip
