Cultural notes

As a shrine dedicated to Hachiman, Izuki Tenmangu Shrine participates in the annual Hachiman Festival, which takes place on July 10th. The shrine is also known for its unique tradition of 'Futo-sai', where devotees carry large wooden pillars to the shrine as an offering.
