Yakushi Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, dedicated to the god of healing and medicine, Yakushinyo. According to legend, the shrine was built in 747 CE during the Nara period by Prince Nagaya, who discovered the deity while on a pilgrimage.
