Medoku-ji Temple, located in the Shimane Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of wisdom and medicine. The shrine's history dates back to the Muromachi period (1336-1573), during which it was an important center for the worship of the god of health, Hotoiki-gami.

歴史

The shrine was rebuilt in 1615 after being destroyed by a fire during the Momoyama period (1573-1603).
