Shimane

Located in the city of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, is the Imperial Prince Shrine (Kōji Jinja), a Shinto shrine dedicated to the spirit of Prince Kōji, a loyal vassal who served the Taira clan during the Genpei War. The shrine is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture.

文化的背景

The shrine is known for its unique wooden bridge, which spans a small stream running through the garden. The shrine also hosts an annual festival, the Matsue Hachiman Matsuri, which honors the deity of war and protector of the imperial family.
