Located in the heart of Kanazawa, Higashi Chaya District's historic center, the Shinmei Sanjushi Hagura Shrine is dedicated to Fujin, the god of wind and storms, but more notably, it enshrines the Hachiman-gami (Hachiman), a prominent Shinto deity. The shrine was originally built in 1653 by Tokugawa Ieyasu's forces during their campaign against the Awa clan in Echizen Province, Ishikawa Prefecture.
