蛭子神社

Shiga

Mikasa Shrine, located in Echizen Province of the former Echizen Domain in Ishikawa Prefecture is not correct, the correct one is in Gunma and Shiga provinces in Kanto region. However, we have 蛭子神社 in Shiga, it's a small shrine dedicated to the god of the frog (Kawarabutaka no kami), which is believed to reside in the nearby Kawachi River. The shrine's architecture is typical of a rural Shinto shrine from the Edo period, with a wooden torii gate and a simple honden (main hall).
