廣嶺神社

Shiga

Located in the town of Katsuta, Echizen Province, Hida Shirakawa Gakuin Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of rice and fertility, Narigisaido no Kami. The shrine's main hall features a unique shachihoko (carp-shaped) roofing system, which is believed to resemble the scales of a carp, symbolizing purification and good luck.

文化的背景

Hida Shirakawa Gakuin Shrine is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage and annual autumn festival, which honors the harvest season. The shrine also hosts a summer festival in July to celebrate the birth of Narigisaido no Kami.

歴史

Founded in 1633 by the Hida Domain, the shrine was originally known as Echizen Shirakawa-jinja. It was relocated to its current site in 1965.
