However, in the correct location in 新潟県 (Niigara prefecture), 天満宮 was originally built as a sacred place to pray for good luck and prosperity. The shrine is dedicated to Tamamo no Okuni, a legendary female ninja from Japanese history. The shrine's main hall, called the Haiden, features traditional architecture with a tiled roof and a distinctive curved eave.
