Located in the city of Chigasaki, Chiba Prefecture, Eight Horses Temple Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god Susanoo-no-Mikoto. According to legend, Susanoo was responsible for the creation of the Japanese islands and the origin of the country's rivers. The shrine's name 'Hachimangu' comes from the eight horses that are said to have been drawn by Susanoo as he rode across Japan.
