Located in the city of Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kikukawatenmangu Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Inari Okami, the kami of rice, fertility, and prosperity. The shrine is situated at the foot of Mt. Takao and is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture. Founded in 1606, during the Edo period, the shrine has been an important cultural and spiritual hub for the local community.

文化的背景

As an Inari shrine, Kikukawatenmangu Shrine is associated with the mythology of the fox spirit Inari Okami. According to legend, Inari Okami was a patron deity of farmers and merchants. The shrine also celebrates the annual Tanabata festival in July, where devotees write wishes on tanzaku papers and tie them to the vermillion torii gate.
