Kasuga Shrine, located in Kinu City, Chiba Prefecture, is one of Japan's most famous and historic Shinto shrines. Dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu Ōmikami, Kasuga Shrine was originally built as a temple during the Heian period (794-1185 CE).
