Know before you stay

The three things overseas guests usually ask us.

Self check-in, 10:00 checkout

Check-in is self-service and the property is unstaffed. Checkout is at 10:00 and must be kept strictly, as cleaners enter and same-day guests may arrive early to drop off bags; late checkout without approval at least one week in advance incurs a ¥30,000 charge.

House rules and penalties

Always switch the sauna off after use, and do not enter the loft. Smoking indoors incurs a ¥150,000 special cleaning fee, and smoking in front of the entrance is not allowed out of consideration for neighbours. Do not change the Wi-Fi settings (¥50,000 penalty) and do not dispose of suitcases or cardboard boxes without asking (¥10,000-¥50,000 handling fee). Forgotten items shipped after checkout cost postage plus a ¥3,000 handling fee.

No date changes after booking

As a rule, dates cannot be changed once a reservation is confirmed, because the host operates whole-house and small-scale listings rather than a hotel.

Overview

Sakura Suite Asakusa Skytree is a renovated two-storey house in Katsushika City, Tokyo, rented out in its entirety as a private sauna retreat. A Finnish-style sauna sits inside, and after your session you can cool down outdoors on the patio under the night sky. The home has two bedrooms and a large living-dining room, sleeping up to 6-9 guests (6 is comfortable; a close-knit group of 9 can also enjoy it). The first floor has a living room, kitchen, bathroom with bathtub (auto-fill and reheat functions, usable as a cold bath), changing area with washbasin, washlet toilet, the sauna, and a balcony space. Upstairs, Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a single futon, and Bedroom 2 has two semi-double beds and two single futons (the loft is off-limits as it stores the host's belongings). A projector (Popin Aladdin, with Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Netflix and more), unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi with wired connection available, a desk, full kitchen, fridge, microwave, tableware, towels and toiletries, hair dryer and air conditioning are all provided, making it suitable for short stays, long stays, and remote work alike. The whole house is yours - you never share with other guests or the host. Both Narita and Haneda airports connect directly to the nearest station, and the property is about a 5-minute walk from there. Tokyo Skytree is 7 minutes away (direct), Asakusa 10 minutes (direct), Akihabara 20 minutes, and Ueno 20 minutes (direct). Supermarkets and electronics stores open late are just a short walk away, and the area around Tateishi Station is known as a mecca of old-Tokyo downtown food culture. Lodging business licence: Katsushika Public Health Centre, No. 4 Katsu-Ho-Sei-Kan-Rei No. 278.
