Overview
Gassho no Yado Magoemon is a roughly 200-year-old gassho-zukuri farmhouse inn located in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Shirakawa-go, built in the late Edo period. The inn embodies Shirakawa-go's spirit of mutual help ("Yui"), having been preserved and passed down through generations with the help of many hands. Guests can actually stay overnight in this historic gassho-zukuri house and experience the warmth of the local people together with the beauty of traditional architecture.
