Overview

Business Hotel Crescent sits in a quiet residential neighborhood just away from the bustle of Nakano Station, an area where old-school eateries, offices and subculture landmarks mix together. Behind an exterior reminiscent of a European back-alley apartment building are compact but characterful rooms where Japanese and Western design meet, spread across the original main building and the newer "Hinoki-kan" annex. The hotel opened in 1992 as Nakano was being redeveloped, and has served tourists, business travelers and local residents alike with safe, homely and reasonably priced stays. The annex added in 2019 uses generous amounts of hinoki cypress and diatomaceous earth, with more rooms offering separate bath and toilet for longer stays, while main building rooms feature plaster walls, domestic oak interiors and Italian lighting. The hotel is popular with international visitors and also works with Nakano City as a temporary evacuation site for local residents in the event of fire or other disasters.
