Cultural notes

In addition to its main deity, Dai Saze Shrine is also associated with the worship of local gods and ancestors, reflecting the traditional Shinto practice of honoring multiple kami. During the spring equinox festival (Shunbun no Hi), locals offer offerings to the shrine's deities for good fortune and prosperity.

Historical note

The shrine was originally constructed during the Heian period, but its current form was rebuilt after a devastating fire in the Edo period (1603-1868).
