Located in the Kagawa Prefecture, Ushijima-san Hachiman-gu is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god Hachiman, the patron deity of war and scholars. The shrine was originally built on Mount Ushijima in 1560 by the Uesugi clan as a temple dedicated to the goddess Hachiko, an ancestor of the Uesugi family. Over time, it evolved into a Shinto shrine in honor of Hachiman, who is revered for his protection and patronage.
