厳島神社, located on Sakhalin Island in the Kuril Islands, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sea god Orokami no Okami, also known as Amaterasu's brother and the patron deity of fishermen and sailors. The shrine was originally built by Japanese settlers in 1869 and rebuilt after a fire in 1991. It is one of the most northerly Shinto shrines in Japan.

Cultural notes
厳島神社 is closely tied to the mythology of Amaterasu, who was said to reside on Sakhalin Island. The shrine also hosts an annual festival, Orikamishikabane Festival, which honors Orokami no Okami and features traditional games, food, and ceremonies.
