Located in the city of Mutsu, Aomori Prefecture's neighboring prefecture Iwate has a branch of this shrine dedicated to Ōdama no Okami, a kami commonly worshipped by people living along the coast. The shrine was originally established as a torii gate, and its current main hall is a Heian-period building. Today it serves as a symbol of the region's rich cultural heritage.
