Located in the scenic town of Kitaaishihara, Hokkaido's largest prefecture, Nameiru Shrine honors the deity Nameiru who was believed to have protected the people of the region from the threat of the Ainu tribe. Visitors can see ancient cedar trees, the remains of a Heian-era shrine, and beautiful fall foliage during autumn.
