白王稲荷神社

Located in the city of Yamanashi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Ōya Hachiman-gū is a revered Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman Ōkami, the god of war and patron deity of travelers. As one of Japan's most famous shrines, it has been an important site for centuries, particularly for pilgrims visiting from Ise and other shrines in central Japan. The shrine complex features traditional Japanese architecture with a five-story pagoda and a large vermilion torii gate. Cultural notes

Ōya Hachiman-gū is famous for its historical significance as a site of pilgrimage and its connection to the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who visited the shrine before his famous battle against the Taira clan. The shrine also features unique architectural elements, such as the 'Shinmei-ji' hall, which houses ancient Shinto artifacts.

The shrine was originally built in 768 AD by Prince Shotoku during the Nara period.
