天満神社

Ehime

Located in the heart of Matsuyama City, Tenmangu Shrine is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a revered kami associated with learning and literature. Built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), this shrine has been rebuilt several times due to fires, but its current structure dates back to 1913. The shrine's design is characteristic of the Shinto architectural style, featuring a vermilion torii gate, wooden pillars, and a peaceful garden.
