The 札幌水天宮 (Sapporo Tsutenkyo) is a Shinto shrine located in the heart of Sapporo, Hokkaido's capital city. Dedicated to the kami of water and the heavens, the shrine was built in 1875 to celebrate the opening of the Chitose Railway, which connected Sapporo to the rest of Japan. The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Japanese styles, with a distinctive tiled roof and ornate torii gate.
