Established in the 7th century, Shizugahara Hachiman-ji Temple is one of Japan's oldest Hachiman shrines, dedicated to the Shinto god of war and patron deity of the Takeda clan. Today, it serves as a major Shinto shrine located in the town of Shizugahara, Shizuoka Prefecture.
