Visitor tip
Visitors can try their luck at the temple's famous 'rice coin' toss game, where they throw coins into a box to pray for good fortune and prosperity. Only 100 yen per turn!
Cultural notes
Inari is often depicted with foxes in Shinto mythology, as he was said to have tamed a fox spirit named Kusunokami Inara that helped him bring fertility to the land. The shrine also celebrates the famous annual 'Furukawa Festival' which commemorates the founding of the temple.
