真駒内神社

True Polished Silver Shrine, dedicated to the Shinto god of agriculture and fertility, as well as the spirit of autumn harvests. Located in the scenic town of Otaru, Hokkaido, this shrine is known for its beautifully maintained gardens and traditional architecture. Visitor tip

Cultural notes

The shrine is famous for its traditional 'shita-mai' ( lower) and 'ue-mai' (upper) gardens, which represent the harmony between heaven and earth. The shrine's architecture is also notable for its use of 'furuya-zukuri', a style that reflects the region's indigenous Ainu culture.
