Asahimae Shrine, located in the town of Funabashi in Chiba Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto kami Amaterasu Omikami, the ancestral deity of the Japanese imperial family. The shrine was originally built in 1625 and rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in 1923.
