Located in the city of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Tadakikunozu Inari shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of rice and industry, and is famous for its unique architectural style. Visitor tip
To make a wish at the shrine, tie a small red string with your name on it to the entrance's wooden beam and pray.
Cultural notes
This shrine is also famous for its association with the Toshogu Shrine in Nikko, which was built as a mausoleum for Tokugawa Ieyasu. Both shrines are connected through a network of rivers and lakes, symbolizing the bond between heaven and earth.
