Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Japan, located in Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The main deity enshrined here is Inari Okami, the kami of rice, fertility, and prosperity. Cultural notes
Fushimi Inari Taisha is closely associated with the fox spirit kitsune, which is said to be a messenger of Inari Okami. The shrine also hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the Spring Festival (Haru Matsuri) and the Autumn Leaves Festival (Koyo).
Historical note
The current shrine was built in 1889, but it is believed to have been founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE).
