Located in the city of Okayama, Castle Mountain Inari Shrine is one of Japan's oldest shrines, dating back to the Heian period (794-1185). Dedicated to the Shinto god Inari Okami, patron deity of rice, fertility, and prosperity, the shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form a tunnel up the mountain.
