Visitor tip

Upon entering the shrine grounds, be sure to purchase a small packet of talcum powder at the gift shop before approaching the torii gate. The powder is said to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits, so it's customary for visitors to sprinkle some on their hands or feet before making an offering.
