This shrine, dedicated to Takamitsutaka Okami, the eighth deity of the Hachiman shrine complex in Iwakuni, Ehime Prefecture, is a revered Shinto site. Its name, 'Hachiman no Machi' (Hachiman Town), reflects its close association with the Hachiman Shrine and its historical role as a military shrine during the Sengoku period.
