Visitor tip
To avoid long lines, visit the shrine early in the morning or later in the evening when possible.
Cultural notes
This shrine is famous for its vermilion torii gate and its many fox statues, believed to be messengers of Inari. During the spring equinox festival, thousands of visitors make offerings of food and incense at the shrine's designated stalls.
Historical note
The shrine was originally built at the foot of Mount Osaki, but it was relocated to its current location in the 16th century.
