Located in the town of Chikihaya, Ibaraki Prefecture, White-Haired Hachiman Shrine is one of Japan's oldest and most revered Shinto shrines. The shrine complex features a distinctive white temple with a tiled roof, which gives it its name. According to legend, Hachiman was invited by Prince Oshisaka to the imperial court at Nara in 734 CE, marking the beginning of his association with this site.
