厄神社, located in the city of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of evil spirits and misfortune, known as 'Ebisu' or 'Enma'. The shrine's name roughly translates to 'Shrine of Evil Spirits' or 'Shrine of the God of Evil'. It is believed that Ebisu is responsible for guiding the souls of the dead to the underworld, and that he can also be appeased with offerings of sake, rice, and other foodstuffs.
