Cultural notes
As one of the many Inari shrines dedicated to the rice goddess Inari Okami, Sugawara Toyokawa Inari Shrine is known for its unique vermilion torii gates that form a tunnel-like path leading to the main hall. The shrine also celebrates the annual Toyotsu Matsuri festival in December, which features traditional dances and offerings to honor the gods of fertility and agriculture.
