According to legend, the kami Inari Okami was so pleased with the devotion of a young woman that he granted her wish for eternal youth and fertility. The shrine also hosts the annual Summer Festival (Natsu Matsuri) to celebrate the bounty of nature.
Historical note
The shrine was established in 1708 during the Edo period as a branch shrine of Hie Shrine in Tokyo.
