Visesetsu Tenman-gu is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to the god of agriculture and fertility, Kunitsubae Hachiman, as well as other regional kami such as Inari Okami and Yamatsumi no Kami. The shrine's architecture reflects the Heian period style, with a large torii gate and a vermilion-covered main hall. Visitors can participate in the Shichi-Go-San festival in May, which honors children of three different ages: preschoolers, school-age children, and young adults.

Visit the shrine's adjacent Iwata River, where you can take a stroll along the riverbank and enjoy the local flora and fauna.
Cultural notes
In addition to its agricultural significance, Visesetsu Tenman-gu is also known for its association with the legendary goddess of the sea, Yamatsumi no Kami. According to local lore, the shrine's torii gate is said to be a replica of the original gate built by Kunitsubae Hachiman himself.

The shrine was founded during the Edo period, with records of its establishment dating back to 1691.
