Visitor tip

Cultural notes

Hachiman is revered as a guardian deity against fire, disease, and calamity. The shrine is also associated with the legend of the 'Furinji,' a mythical temple where Hachiman is said to have created the legendary sword 'Sanen no Kamakaze.' During the spring festival of 'Hanami-zukuri' ( Cherry Blossom Viewing), visitors can participate in rituals and ceremonies honoring the deity's role as protector.
